The online gambling company donates 14000 Euros

Donation to women who have suffered from illegal human trafficking

The Aland online gambling company, which is named Paf, made a donation of a little more than 14000 Euros to an association located in Lithuania, through an organization called Emmaus.  This is an organization that helps women who have suffered from illegal human trafficking and from other problems.
Last year, Paf.com organized several online poker tournaments under the name “Paf Charity Poker”, which main objective was to collect money to make a donation to this organization.  It was possible to collect 4100 Euros from what players contributed in these tournaments and the extra money that Paf donated as well.  These funds were immediately sent to Vilna, Lithuania, through the Emmaus organization.
Paf also offers some scratch and win tickets, in cooperation with Primer Air and this allowed them to collect 10500 Euros to donate to different social causes.  This is why Paf, decided to donate 14600 Euros this year and this is why there are more people playing poker online with Paf.  Robert Jansson, who is the director of Emmaus Aland, said that the donations that were made by Paf, will allow this association to get a new location, where they will able to help women and their patients a lot better.
Jansson also said that the Baltic region is the place where at least 3000 people fall victim to illegal human trafficking every year and that these people are almost always used for sexual actions.  He also stated that the numbers have proven that from those 3000 people, at least 1000 or 1200 are from Lithuania and that at least 400 of them are between the ages of 14 and 18.
The new center in Vilna, Lithuania will serve as a temporal place of residence for those people who have suffered from any type of illegal human trafficking.  This center will provide them with some medical help and also some psychological help, so that they can interact normally with society once again.  Emmaus is also considering opening a second hand store, where the residents of these center, could either sell or get some goods, to help them with their new life.
It is very sad that there are still criminals out there, who are taking advantage of people and using them for their own criminal acts.  Human trafficking has been around for many centuries and women are very vulnerable to these groups of criminals, because they look for them to turn them into prostitutes and for other sexual services.  Thanks to companies like Paf, these people will now be able to enjoy a safe place to live in and have someone to take care of them.
