Isildur1 Wins $750k From Bttech86
April 30, 2013
High stakes poker action continues online
Over the last few days, there has been a battle of the ages going on at the Full Tilt Poker tables against FTP The Professionals player Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and online poker pro Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene. After the latter dominated Isildur1 yesterday for $542,800 while playing $500/$1000 CAP PLO on top of the $451,000 he won from him on Sunday, Blom managed to come back Monday night and take more than $750,000 back from Bttech86.
While the stakes would give normal people nosebleeds, the two pros don’t seem to have any problem betting huge amounts of money on one card and winning more in one session than what some large live tournaments offer for a first place finish. Casual players that want to enjoy smaller stakes, and also the best graphics in online poker, can simply Play at PKR and get the ideal welcome bonus for every style.
Isildur1 vs. Bttech86
The match between Isildur1 and Bttech86 on Monday night was a lot shorter than their usual sessions and they didn’t even switch tables. Another thing that made it stand out is that there was a pretty long time in which the two were just trying to get a better position and not focus that much on making and winning big pots.
Once past the half point of the 514 hand match, things got a lot more interesting as Isildur1 got a few nice pots to get a 300k lead in a few hundred hands. By the end of the match, Tollerene seemed to be playing very loose and going all-in with mediocre hands and it didn’t take long for Blom to punish him, take his money and force out the friendly “gg” call as he left the virtual tables for the day.

Just before the match against Bttech86, Isildur1 lost a quarter of a million dollars to Yoghii in one hour, at the FLHE tables. This means that Blom banked a bit under half a million yesterday, which is not a bad day’s work.
Online high stakes rankings
After four months of high stakes online poker action, Isildur1 is still on top of the rankings despite having some big swings recently. He has won more than $3.9 million this year, while playing 152064 hands across 1540 sessions. Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn is not far behind, having won more than $3.2 million in 838 sessions this year. Bttech86 is sixth on the list with a nice $1.5 million addition to his account so far this year.
In other poker news, Gus Hansen is the biggest loser of the year and is down over $2.8 million while Phil “Polarizing” Ivey is also not doing very well online and is in the red for $1.5 million. Of course, his historic ninth gold bracelet win earlier this month can be more important for him despite the fact that he only got $51,840 to go with his new piece of jewelry.
There is still a long way to go until we know the biggest online poker winner of 2013 but the way things are going, the amount will certainly be bigger than the $3.5 won by Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky in 2012. To be fair, Full Tilt Poker was down for a big portion lost year and it remains the best place to play high stakes on the internet.
New users that want to start playing just need to choose their preferred site and check out online poker signup. There are plenty of options available nowadays and the stakes don’t have to be as big as the ones Isildur1 plays for. The game is just as fun when playing at $0.01/$0.02 stakes because at the end of the day, the stack is just a number of big blinds.
